The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac) who previously had worked with Brad Pitt in the previous movies. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is somewhat similar to Forrest Gump only that the protagonist ages backwards. Aging backwards somehow makes the story more sad, seeing the ones you love grow naturally. I won't write much spoilers, you must watch this show if you liked Forrest Gump. Apparently both movies share the same screenplay writer in Eric Roth, explaining the similarity in style.

Nevertheless, great chemistry shown between Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett. They have previously worked together and had great chemistry in Babel, so it is not surprising that they put on a good show. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is about the struggles of life, from his father to his adopted mother to his love, his daughter and things that went on in his curious life. *spoiler ahead* Most moving part of the movie was when he left, *im trying to be discrete here* and he sent back postcards saying how he wished he was there on for his daughter. And the most funny part would be the occasional, " Have i told you before that i was struck by lightning 7 times?".

Deserved its 13 Oscar Nominations? Yes. Winning them? Maybe. Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, Frost/Nixon aren't pushovers and i felt that they are have more originality over The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Still for that $6 (that is if you're still a student), this 2.5hr show is definitely worth your money. Just remember to watch it at a cinema with comfy seats and legroom, GV Yishun is definitely not one of them.

ahh its the end of BK, and friday had to end like that. to answer san and selfie, friday was like any other normal movie watching day.

projects sucks, gotten A , B and C for diff modules. bloody C, damn. watched 4 movies this week. on wednesday watched Red Cliff 2 at cine and spotted some BJ people there, afterwhich continued with another show, Eden Lake when CH came over to join in. both shows were nice. luckily managed to catch Eden Lake as it was the 2nd last time slot before the movie closes. i did not promise to watch with the class, so technically i did not pung seh the class, lol. i said i was going home to change and depends on which movie you guys watching then i will decide whether to join or not. you guys should know that i don't watch crap shows. haha.

ok on friday was a pung seh act, i must admit. haha. it is due to situations that are unavoidable. watched Underworld: Rise of the Lycans with a group of underaged, followed by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button . Both shows were nice.

and its that time of the academic calendar again. pull on your nylon stockings dudes, time to mug.

not really a proper greeting, anyway, its been awhile since i update anything meaningful. im still not going to update anything meaningful. currently reading our effective writing report and watching Milk and updating this blog concurrently. Milk is a very nice movie, damn, most sean penn's movie are nice. its a biography of harvey milk, who became the first openly gay to be voted into office. his struggles and fight for gay rights. its r21 and its timeslots in the cinemas are rather late so i watched in online. really worth to watch. played soccer with the 86 peeps in the afternoon, and got caught in something so plan failed to catch eden lake today :(

watched marley and me yesterday, another nice movie. missed it when it was shown in the cinemas, might be getting the book, probably worth reading too. although i have a line up of books still on my waiting to be read list.

and yeah how can i forget, happy cny to all. its the year of the ox. a castrated beast of burden, or neuter beast of burden ;p .

will find time to catch eden lake in the cinemas next week. its a british movie for heaven's sake, a must watch. reviews have been encouraging so far.

watched live n loaded on channel 5, been awhile since i was excited by a local production. electrico and tgse playing live on tv, it was nice. and tgse closed the show with class 'a' love affair with the crowd body surfing in the mosh pit was very nice and the crowd was singing along to the tune also.

Lazy blogger here, i caught back my disease, not feeling well because of that. so on nye went to the flyer to watch the fireworks. i swear we walked more than 10km that night. it was a tiring night, watching the fireworks somehow felt empty. its just oversized sparklers which burns a huge hole from the tax payers pocket. ooops.

I still haven thought of a proper resolution for this year. I shall think of one soon, nevermind its already 2009 but yeah i think everyone should have a resolution and work towards it. sundown? the soda drinks? lol. still thinking.

Sunday however was great, enjoyed the game with the elks. We won, and Zali how often do you see a scoring counter attacking centre back ^^. lol. And if you're reading this, i have a classmate who wants the elks to pay him $20 to let him play for us. lol. What do you think?

It might still be early days, but i have a good feeling about Liverpool this season. Even getting 2nd with a narrow gap on the leaders would be an achievement.

Still stuck on freakonomics, don't really have time to read nowadays or is it my disease. Projects snowballing and tests coming in like avalanche, have mercy on me.
Been watching Gossip Girl these past 10 days or so and i completed watching 31 episodes, i think thats quite an achievement. And PB and GG airs again tomorow. I think i need a new addiction now.

Boxing Day is always associated with natural disaster since 4 years ago. If you guys have forgotten, thousands lost their lifes in the Tsunami disaster that struck the Indian Ocean. So yeah, the end of world is nigh, repent your sins. Boxing day also means that there is soccer tonight.

What have i been doing these past few days? Nothing. Still have not completed my cover letter yet. Sorry guys i won't be sharing my work with you guys so don't bother asking me to show mine. lol. Been rotting at home, less the trip to Bugis on Thursday and the trip to the mosque on Friday.

Nominations for Best Picture for the Golden Globes are out. TDK only managed a single nomination and that is for the late Heath Ledger's work. Apart from that i think The Curious Case of Benjamin Betton will be leading the pact, although it will only be shown in local cinemas next year.

You can skip the last 2 although they are currently showing in cinemas. The first 2 are old movies, Requiem For A Dream is a junkie movie just like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as mentioned in the previous post. I think it would probably bore guys to death watching it. Nevertheless i'll talk more about the movie in my next post, maybe. So yeah if you need some old movie to watch over this break you can catch these 2 movies with the ^^ and the other junkie movie.

Are we humans? Or are we dancers? What the hell was on brandon flowers' mind when he wrote this. here are some comments:

Entertainment Weekly's Pop Watch section called this line the "silliest lyrics of the week".

Ganz with Rolling Stone called the line "classic Killers' nonsense."

So i went to dig. It was inspired by Hunter S. Thompson, the author of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas which happen to be on my desktop background. Re-popularised in 1998 when they made it into a movie and it starred a young Johnny Depp. Hunter S. Thompson made a note of the increasing number of dancers in the world today. Whatever that means, i still don't get it why he made that observation. Anyways RIP to him, he was found dead with a 'self inflicted gunshot wound to the head' when his son found him, and he was talking to his wife on the phone when he took his life. Ok im digressing. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is a nice, fun film maybe you guys can watch it since its the term break. Term Break !! Yay!

Watched The Secret Life of Bees with the angtao, selfie, sherlyn, san, ch, vin, gina,xinni. Glad that most of them did not fall asleep during the show. It was a nice show, potraying a white girl finding mother's love among the black women, set in the volatile racial discrimination era of the 1970s. And i have to mention the heavyweight cast , wait, i think i mentioned it in the previous post. After movie we dined at taka delifrance. Service sucks.

Shall complete my ICAs this break. I still don't know what options to choose.

its like fucking finally. poa ica over and stats project is over. group works brings out the true colors of everyone. somebody told me that. talking bout hypocrisy, it is natural, unavoidable. everyone is guilty of it, not that im the only one who noticed it. so theres no need to go against it, its been there since forever.

its been a long while since BK played soccer. lets play on wednesday. ang tao mentioned organising a chalet to tighten the bond for the class. i find no reason for that. sorry to disappoint, is there a need? we can all bond during tutorials and lectures right? information are bypassing by brain now.

current song was inspired by one of our tutors. make a guess which one, was a random thought during a conversation that i came to think about this old number. i thought this cover was nicer than the original version. (smooth criminal by A.A.F)

school work is piling and my veins are popping soon, like the previous day. it'll burst soon guess. and i also realised that my alien is growing bigger, i might need to go on maternity leave soon. theres like no more shape, the aliens have landed.

alright im talking nonsense again, i wanted to upload photos from fara's birthday celebration in class but cannot. yeah i found my cable, my tortoise was hiding it in its shell. but couldn't find the images when i opened my memory card, but the photos are still in the phone. why ar?

anyways The Secret Life of Bees seem like a nice movie to watch and it opens tomorrow. The line-up is powerful, although reviews says that it is rather boring, i think i'll catch it anyway. And Wild Child is showing now, maybe should catch it also.

its december !!!

not december quite yet, but december is like the climax of the year. its like chicken skin/liver with chicken rice or atap seeds in ice kachang, the pinnacle. albeit we're not having holidays like other schoolgoing children, the feeling is still there. even for working adults, this is the time where bonuses will come in. so theres something special about december. december is also the highlight on the dance and music scene, there's zoukout, christmas parties and countdown parties.

so decided to watch quarantine with the class, deja vu, as i had watched REC, so i knew the storyline and where the 'shocks' will be. however, there are minor modifications to the storyline in the holywood remake. like the rat scene and the sharpshooter headshot scene. i find watching quarantine caused more dizziness than wathcing REC. probably due to dimmer lighting used, this increased the suspense factor for some, but did not work for me as i already knew when it was going to come. however it was achived at the expense of increased giddiness. or maybe that was the factor leading to the increased suspense. personally i preferred REC style of shooting better. the actors/actresses in the show were average, none too outstanding performance from any. prison break is getting more and more exciting, cant wait for the next episode. don self is one bloody asshole. pardon my poor usage of paragraphing.

mind my heart, this twisted attraction

watched body of lies with the class, it was a good and clever movie about espionage and the people involved in espionage. worth to watch although it might be a tad too draggy at 128mins. i find that the movie was engaging throughout. russell crowe(gladiator/a beautiful mind), leonardo di caprio(departed/catch me if you can) and mark strong(syriana/rocknrolla) put on a sterling performance which is enough reason to catch the movie. the finger hammering is gross. eeek.

the week before, i managed to catch REC on its last few screening and im glad i did. think blair witch project and cloverfield, somewhat less headache + dawn of the dead/i am legend and thats what the movie is like. very nice show, wonder what its hollywood version going to be like. for those who missed REC should catch Quarantine which is the hollywood remake of this Spanish show. its kind off scary, ch was covering his face in his shirt throughout ;p.

saturday was sort off sports day. me,san,vin played in the soccer tourney whilst malcolm,hongwei,wenbin,zhiyong,ili,fara and gina played captain's ball. although both teams got knocked out in the first round but we had lots of fun. oo i forgot to mention our MVP cheok hong was there for captain's ball. and ang tao was around to beo cute girls playing captain's ball ;p. some people were particularly beaming that day or was i seeing things ;p.

so here's a proposal that we play captain's ball next friday with BJ. im sure that will excite some people in our class ^^. guys and girls can play ^^.

been a week of wasted opportunities.

quantum of solace was like wtf show, super boring, would have slept through the movie if not for the uncomfortable seats at gv yishun. all of us agreed to that and it would have been a better choice to join the buddies for coffee or something. thanks la cheok hong ;p nice movie recommendation. and thanks to ang tao for bringing us to yishun, very nice place indeed, got starbucks. self before others, nice one.

after the movie we went for dinner at BK, we then had a discussion that went round and round with no end in sight because there was no end to it, or was there an end?

lifted something off my chest, submitted the access database which was an irritating project to work on. however i still think that it is morally wrong to complain about the tutor. you can call me conservative, but i still think it is morally wrong to do that.

theres nothing to write anymore, i skipped Raya with the elks then i skipped dinner at 7s place. i declined fir and kai when they jio me out. i have a non-existent social life. and i have decided not to go to this year's Zoukout, or any other Zoukout for that matter. yeah that sums it all up.

im feeling quite drained, and its only monday. must find a way to keep my energy levels up.

*old man was too tired to update his blog yesterday, im growing old! yay!*

so here goes, went for lunch with sherlyn, gina, hw, ch, yh, vin and angtao at Mad Jack's, that was the 3rd time we ate there even though the food sucks.

we had an interesting debate over lunch, ch in one corner vs almost the rest of us. because hw was smart enough not to engage in any sort of conversation with ch. ch told of his encounter with 2 burly men in suits and wearing shades ala security contractors. and he saw these two men outside a place of worship and to add on to that, they had their arms folded. so he decided to call these two men 'bouncers'.

then he went on to sprout nonsense and says that the people inside were partying inside which was rather insensitive ;). apart from that i mostly agree with what ch said. then he went on to talk about religion and hyprocisy. i find that it rather interesting.

that brings me to this point, lets say that if you were to hire a worker, which of these 2 would you choose?

person A is a dilligent worker who will do as he is told and is robot-like

person B isn't really the hardworking sort but is non-conformist and does things in an unorthodox way

somebody told me that i should tell the smokers in the class to quit smoking. in the 2nd last chapter of The Tipping Point is a study done on smoking and smokers psychology. i have forgotten most parts of it, but i shall summarise.

'eh dun smoke la, its not good for your health u noe'

have you tell a smoker that before, i think most of you did. well some of you told me that before too right? so do you think that smokers is unaware of the health risks that comes with the habit. everybody knows the health risks but why do smokers still smoke? the price of cigarettes increased drastically over the years.

when i first started smoking, a 20sticks pack of marlboro cost me $4.50, the price now is over $11. why do people still smoke? im gonna thrash some group of people but doing that may land me into trouble.

ok the moral of the story is, to help someone quit smoking is not to ask him/her to quit smoking but just to let it be.

*the smoking post isn't making any sense, i'll edit it later on when i re read some parts of the book*

and lastly, i'll end with a question. why smokers don't grow old?

Of Limerence, Broken Hearts and Heartbreakers - A Class 'A' Love Affair

I find the first week of school rather tiring, the TV is watching me by the time its 2130 and i would miss some parts of Crimebusters x 2. All the lecturers are great except for Marketing. And to worsen the Monday blues, her lecture is at 8am on Monday. What a way to start the week. Maybe its the training on Tuesdays that is sapping my energy. I no longer have the ability to recover fast enough, signs of aging :(

Is there a change of climate within the class? What are the factors contributing to this? Or am i the only one noticing this? Maybe its due to Ang Tao not being in the class any longer. I thought he is an essential component of the class as he has a unique personality that brings people together. A 'connector' as mentioned by Malcolm Gladwell in his best seller. Or there is more than meets the eye?

Someone mentioned that i should write about myself in my blog, but sorry to disappoint that i keep a separate entry that is for my eyes only and its not CSI-able.

Regarding the title of this post, don't dwell into the unknown if you don't have the capacity, the Golden Rule applies here. Don't do unto others what u don't want others to do unto yer.

Very nice movie, definitely one of the better ones amongst the many mediocre movies showing in the cinemas now. My fav character would be Johnny Quid, a rockstar presumably dead by the public cause he is fucking cool. He killed the bouncer with a pencil, how cool is that. And in the background, or in the club itself rather, The Subways was playing Rock n Roll Queen. Awesome scene. However, he is staying at an abandoned house and is on drugs most of the time. He is also the son of Lenny, an old-timer of London's crime scene. The first 30mins was rather a bore, this is the part where Guy Ritchie is establishing the plot and developing the characters. I was barely surviving the fight with the z monster for that period. Untill the 'You Can't Kill Me, I Am Still Not Dead' Russians come into the picture. LOL. Johnny Quid is a very intelligent junkie and is the protagonist for the sequel titled, The Real RocknRolla. All the characters in the movies are great, but hopefully the storyline will be improved on in the sequel. It will be a trilogy with the final film called Rock n Rolla Suicide, however it will be based on response at the box office. so met up with BK today,

met up with ang tao, alvin, gina, hong wei, mm, dan, qiongling at somerset. melvin made a guest appearance, 10 min cameo at the control station before he left. straight away went to cine to catch a movie, settled for burn after reading. ikhsan and his gf joined us for the movie after bumping into them at the ticketing counter.

after movie we walked aimlessly for an hour before procrastinating for another hour on what to eat for dinner. went to marina square for dinner at pizza hut. lol wtf. go so far eat pizza hut ;). CH then join us for talk cock session at TCC, he was rather tipsy after a glass of bailey's and was sprouting nonsense.

very very disappointing, coen brothers' previous movie, no country for old men was way way way much better. even with a heavywight cast, the movie is still a major disappointment, dun bother catching it if you haven. even for a movie buff like me ;) , i dun even noe wat the fuck was happening. character development, storyline was almost non-existent. you might wanna catch no country for old man, this movie burn after reading dun do justice to what the coen brothers are capable of.

less than a week more till school reopens, taken a sneak preview of the modules that we will be taking next semester. as im typing this actually just found out that the timetable is just out earlier today.

so here is the summary, we'll be having 8am classes for 3 days, mon, weds and friday. the most draggy day would be thurs lecture ends at 6. zzzzz. was glad to see that for some of the modules only 50% of the weightage goes to the exams unlike the previous sem cause i screwed up the exams and brought down my gpa. hope to significantly improve on my current gpa. i tink im gonna be late for alot of lectures and tutorials liao. die. monday is LECTURE at 8, cannot come late. i can alredi feel the monday blues, and its only 1.30am tuesday now. die.

liu hui wont be in BK any longer, good riddance! haha. jkjk. he says he is gonna try to get same timings as bk. so hopes that he gets to do just that on wednesday when he register for his modules. what would BK be like without AngTao?

liverpool remembers istanbul yet again

fernando torres once again more than justify his price tag and the hype that surrounds him by scoring 2 goals against man city to help liverpool draw level after going 2-0 down at halftime. then during injury time, the fat waiters godson as some 'fans' called him provided the winner to complete another great comeback by liverpool. despite arriving from the dutch league with a reputation of a free scoring striker dirk kuyt now is firmly established as a right midfielder and is one of RB untouchables with his non-stop running workhorse-like display week in week out. His rare goal last night came in timely as liverpool wrestle 3 points out of the match. i must admit liverpool were outplayed in the first half and had to go to the dressing room 2 goals down at half time. however, instead of giving in, they play with much vigour and was still believing that they could get something out of the game. they probably remembered istanbul, and after zalabeta was sent off, the tide was turned. liverpool however needed to play with 10 man for the last 10minutes or so as Skrtel was stretchered off in pain. it is confirmed that he will be out for months, nevertheless im sure Agger will be relishing the chance thats coming his way and regain his place in the starting eleven. the signs had been good so far this season, liverpool are bearing the hallmark of champions by winning even when they are playing badly. and the sign just shone brighter with this comeback , however it is still early days. hope to see liverpool at least maintaining their current position come new year. and rafa benitez had finally realized that he should not overdo his 'squad rotation' policy, like finally. zzz

just watched a local indie production, wujud 2. a sequel to wujud. wujud means exists in malay. its basically about a team of ghosthunters going to places around singapore to look for ghosts and put it on film.

for the sequel which i just watched, viewers who have watched the first film are given a chance to be part of a challenge. these viewers, mostly skeptics will have to stay at a specific location for 5hours, from 12midnight to 5am. those who succeed will get a token of $500 bucks (this is an indie production anyways).

the events that happened seemed real to me, they had flown in a 'ghost pro' from indonesia whose duty is to call upon the ghost for the participants. she will also be the one to exorcise the ghost in case anything goes out of hand.

the locations where it is being filmed is not revealed, but if you know singapore well enough theres only a few places that would fit the bill, im not talking bout the much hyped old changi hospital, its mostly filmed in forested area all around singapore.

these places remind me of some trainings that i had before, however i may consider myself lucky not to have any first hand encounters with the paranormal. i have no ghost stories to share from my own ns experience, but had alot of stories that is shared by my colleagues, seniors and juniors. sometimes i wonder if they really exist or this production is just a hoax.

apart from the less than satisfactory sound quality, this production is a very refreshing concept indeed.

Is it just me or what, i think liverpool played better without captain fantastic stevie g. Everyone else upped their play without him. well done u mighty reds. monsterano bossing the midfield and alonso pulling the strings. riera had a good debut(told ya hes gonna start), watched his videos on youtube and he did exactly as expected and he played a part in causing the own goal, which was duely mentioned by the stadium announcer.

ryan babel is probably better played off the bench and his substitution had immediate impact and grabbed the winner with a lucky finish i must say. the ball was leaving the ground when he struck it. good work by masch pushing all the way and forcing giggs to do a clown of an error.

the line up i posted earlier was almost correct, with the exception of yossi. the back 4 is probably the strongest line up for liverpool.

Wall-e

Went into the cinema with high expectations, although i already knew that the first 20 minutes or so was going to be drag.
but came out rather dissapointed. it wasnt that bad a movie, still watchable though. presto, the pixar's short before the movie kind of set the mood for the main movie, it is kinda lame, imagine just for laughs but lamer.

BK class chalet was a fun filled 3days 2nights, its too fun filled that im too lazy too list down the things that we did. im sure u guys had fun too. sounds like a modified version of cheok hong's fav phrase, 'you have fun man!'. dutty yeah. BK is dope, that pretty much sums up the whole chalet.

we watched Kallang Roar the movie on Tuesday, was a very good movie apart from some very fake scenes but with a budget of less than $1mil you cant be expecting a hollywood like standard in remaking the games of the matches. they tried their best to emulate the goals, even the late Supermokh celebration jig.

4/5 movie.

however i really hope that there would be a sequel. probably potraying the 'Dream Team' that did the historic double in 1994, ironically that was the year when Singapore left the malaysia cup. it will make an interesting movie, a week before the 93/94 m league started, singapore's coach, ken warden, left the team. douglas moore who was then the technical director had to take over the team. he eventually led the lions to the double.

cant seem to find my abbas saad jersey.. although it would be too small to wear, i should have kept it for memories of the good old days when the die hard fans are really die hard fans of the lions. i also couldnt find the die hard fan tee with fandi's signature. abbas saad was my fav player back then. :(

those were the days when theres no live telecast of epl. back then there were only highlights of epl games on weekends, hosted by daryl david if i remember correctly. back then of 5 pages in the sports column on the new paper, 3 would be on local soccer and just a small portion on epl and the likes. no such thing as betting columns/tips what have you.

back then singapore was just a malaysia premier league and malaysia cup champions but the atmosphere was euphoric, now singapore is the king of asean football but the feeling isnt the same. sleague can never manage to scale to the heights of the good old malaysia cup days. sad case.

the semestral exams finally over, hope that i dont have to take any supp papers and also hope that i don't have to repeat any modules cause i dint really studied for the exams.

so after not kicking a ball for quite some time we played soccer on saturday, was a fun kickabout session and we only stopped playing when it started raining. the thought of travelling to school on a saturday morning was rather dreadful, luckily zy called in time to go together.

going to collect nike+ race pack at the cannery tomorow morning, another dreadful trip all the way to clark quay... din train for the run, just hope i can finish it before the organisers remove the barricades. will be looking forward to the after event concert at padang.

class chalet next week. most probably i'll just stay for one night. i'll be homesick if stay any longer. gonna watch kallang roar the movie during the chalet, it had good reviews from the kind butties at hwz forum. so will be looking forward to the movie. dutty yeah!

results from week 2 of the epl had been a mixed bag, teams like spurs and arsenal dropped points against the likes of sunderland and fulham. and stoke city managed a win against aston villa when everyone expected aston villa to pummel stoke city after their convincing victory last weekend.

liverpool remembered istanbul with 2 goals in the last 10 min of the game against boro. with local born and bred scousers carragher and gerrard providing the equaliser and winner respectively. they are currently sitting at the top of the table for the time being. with chelsea being the only team capable of taking the spot if they win their game on sunday.

liverpool old boy, cisse scored sunderland's winner on his debut, wish him all the best and that he stay out of the injury list.

played soccer with elks on national day, won 3-1. thought we should have kept a clean sheet. and against my predictions it rained during our match and well through the NDP parade. that was only my 2nd time playing at regent sec, the pitch going to be closed for upgrade to artificial turf soon.

also first time in years that i watched NDP live on tv at home. the olympics opening ceremony was way better than the NDP.

anyways Jose Sazalao has thrown in a challenge towards BK aka SFU, which i declined. but if you guys really wanna have a match against the elks, i can arrange it for you guys.

A special date that will occur once in a thousand years. nothing special for me as usual though. no school today, w00t!

went for prayers then headed to Singapore Expo, its been years since i've been to that ulu place. the last time i been there was like more than 5 years ago when nike organised a Scorpion K.O soccer competition. the one where eric cantona stands on top of the cage and throws in the ball advertisement.

ok, so i went there cause borders having a sale there. so the place was filled with books and dvds. browsed through and bought 3 books. didnt buy any dvds though, they were going cheap at $15 and the titles are quite recent.

the sale ends on sunday, so theres still time to check it out. luckily i went today cause it will be jam packed during weekends. was hoping they will be albums sold but nope. :(

next went to bugis topman, after 2 weeks of procrastinating finally went to topman. going to the bugis outlet was a wrong choice though, so many bengs and mats there. should have gone to the marina outlet. nvm, saw the short shorts sold there the price was outrageous 63bucks for so little cloth, i'd rather get their jeans. bought some stuffs and headed home.

end of my another loner shopping trip, now need to start studying for POM.

review of money not enough 2

was rated 1.5/5 by the local papers. i smell propa$%*$#. the movie wasnt powerful enough to evoke tears off me nor was it on par with The Dark Knight(duh..), but it isn't as bad as a 1.5/5 show. it is still watchable and i give it 2.6/5. the movie potrays a real situation faced by normal singaporeans and with the aging population of the nation increasing, the poor state of 'mother' is very real and is happening even now. the film also tries to raise awareness of MLM or multi level marketing. which often ends up with you getting cheated off your money. follow the rule of thumb that something is too good to be true, it probably is. these are the serious parts of the show that is peppered with jokes throughout the show. i though jack neo should focus on just one thing, this movie should be made as a tear jerker rather than trying a mish mash of comedy and sad story.

like his other movie, Homerun, which was inspired by the Iranian movie Children of Heaven. ok i admit i teared to these 2 movies but not money not enough 2. nuff said. so me using 2.5 packs of tissue was utter nonsense. lol.

lets start with finally finishing all the projects, the last one being sharepoint which took me the whole of saturday morning to finish, ok except for the publishing part which i couldnt figure out. w00tw00t.

played soccer on friday although wasn't really in the mood to play with the stewpig flu bug pestering me. see la vin told u liao we can beat bj if we play street soccer. ok then met up with the lads to just chill out, ate dinner with fir at newton. the stingray chilli was so salty that me having my tastebuds malfunctioning due to flu could still taste its f-ing saltishness. dissapointing la. then we went off to orchard to meet up with the rest.

was supposed to play soccer with them on sat morning but was too lazy, so just slept and slept and slept. but the stupid flu still there. then finished the sharepoint and slept for an hour and get ready for elks match against the unpuntuals. was rather psyched up for the match as its been a while since i met up with the elks and played a game on the pitch with them.

so i got ready everything and made my way to the mrt and then zali called. the match been postponed to next sunday. well done la. went to eat breakfast and then went home. the rot is coming (you reading this zali) just like how KBFC rot into the abyss. deja vu, better do something man. serious. the rot is coming, or it already had began.

as expected watched x-files the movie last week, was rather mediocre show to me. it was as if i was watching a 2 hour tv show. if shud have been named the paedo psychic part 1 and the paedo psychic part 2. nothing powerful, just like a normal x-files tv show to me. dissapointing 2.75/5.

the verve will be coming back with a new album. will be looking forward to its release. these are the guys that came up with one the best songs ever written, bittersweet symphony although its originality had always been questioned, which is rather true though but heck, its a very nice song to me.

movies to watch, hmm maybe money no enough 2. its not exactly a comedy like its predecessor reviews seems to label it as a sad story with light jabs to the govt, it made through MDA cencorship though. reviews for mummy 3 had been crap, luckily i skipped that movie last friday. just trivial info the first money no enough was not directed by jack neo but was written by him though, but money no enough 2 is directed by him. shall catch it this week.

finally had time to update my dusty blog.. (wall of text ahead) too many things happened within the space of a week. ok lets start last week was Dan's and Sir's birthday, went to the Naked Fish Shoppe at Ang Mo Kio Grassroot for dan's birthday, the food was ok and service was prompt. Food was served quite fast, finally had western food for lunch, breaking away from the increasingly boring food in school. wanted to go to Dallas Chicken and Ribs buffet for chong's birthday but he had something on so called it off.

then on saturday we (ray, vin, angtao) went to bishan stadium to watch sleague match, HUFC vs SGu23. atmosphere was rather boring unlike the SAF fans.. i tink the events aren't in the correct order. lol. before that we spent the whole day in the library, it was a saturday btw to complete our sharepoint presentation. hong wei korkor was damn power la, BD girls asked for his email address. w00ts!

then it was projects week, POM + Micro presentations = late nights + shagness. relieved that the 2 presentations are over. good job to my group mates. then finally last burst of fire on Oral Comm presentation. yet another saturday spent in school, played soccer in the morning followed by oral comm till evening. soccer was great, dan was on form and hardly put a foot wrong throughout. towards the end of the game, cheok hong showed his true colours by charging at full speed and crashing into me like a full grown wild**** with a sinister look on his face. ;). leaving me twisting and turning in pain :( .

then on monday, got back our spss and ica2 results for stats, and as expected failed my ica2. chong went to teach melvin to play poker and the lecture theatre became a gambling den for a while. before that zy had one of his happiest moment in his life i guess. ;). was procrastinating whether or not to go to the kallang stadium for the singapore brazil match, finally decided not to as there WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A LIVE TELECAST ON CHANNEL 5. bruff little chewren. reached home and my edmw butties said there was only delayed telecast at 1030 on tuesday. what a shame, the match was played in singapore but we had to rely on overseas sources to watch the live telecast (reads: online tv) . :(. and then there's the news of a pervert taking upskirt photos of girls at the south canteen. so those wearing skirt pls take note.

then came today presented our oral comm at 3, came to skool earlier for last minute touchups, followed by muay thai training till 9. w00t! 32 more days.

Was in school for almost the entire Saturday. No life sia saturday also go school. lol. Reached school at 1030 at met alvin korkor and hongwei at the library before ch, san and ray joined us. Did not really start doing till 1pm and just idled.

Finally finished my sharepoint webpage at 3pm and crapped in the library as we killed time before meeting up with Ang Tao. hw damn pro la, 4 girls from BD asked for his help to do sharepoint, then even asked for his msn. wootwoot.

Had dinner at junction8, they wanted dinner at cafe cartel but i wasn't a big fan of pork ribs so we settled for kfc. The new shrimp/prawn nuggets not bad. After that went to the arcade which seemed to be part of our routine when we meet up. Very the beng-ish, Ang Tao is Bishi Bashi pro.

Then walked to bishan stadium for sleague match. Home united vs young lions, their fans quite boring, unlike SAFFC fans. Boring match ended in 1-0 win for home united. National Team coach, Raddy was in the stands to watch the match. And Ang Tao spotted a pack of cigarettes in his hand, lol.

I think the registration for the Nike+ Human Race is closed, cant seem to get into the link. I think they have reached their quota of 10,000 participants. Thats a lot of people, i think the running route will be packed.

WHY SO SERIOUS?! LET ME PUT A SMILE ON THAT FACE.

It might be a Batman movie, but unlike Batman Begins where the story revolves mainly around Bruce Wayne or Batman, TDK got other characters involved heavily into the storyline. Namely Lt. Gordon(Gary Oldman), Harvey Dent(Aaron Eckhart) and Joker(Heath Ledger). Great performance by the heavyweight cast. I won't post any spoiler, definite must watch. Reviews for the movie had been encouraging at rottentomatoes and imdb, scoring 9+ ratings. Definitely not your typical superhero movie with just all the actions stuff, this is an intelligently written movie, great storyline to accompany the actions.

Heath Ledger's potrayal of the Joker is probably the best ever villain on screen. He definitely deserved a post-humous oscars for his work. RIP.

9.4/10 - Do yourself a favour and watch the movie, but take note that the movie is 152mins long.

Went to Martin Road near MS Road to HongWei's workplace for POM project. After that the guys went to queue for MOS party later that night.

Realised that it was a stupid idea to wait in the queue for another 6 hours the guys decided to walk around. Walked to Fort Canning Park and found Ikhsan queueing up for Singfest.

my first experience with the crazy bunch was a few years back. it was after a soccer match and we went to mac at NP for lunch. while eating, all of a sudden a bunch of kids went to my table and ate my fries.! WTF right. seriously weird place.
then at yishun stadium, although the match was quite boring but we were entertained by colorful characters that were super funny. lmao. noticed that there are two groups of people who watches soccer live in SG. one is the die hard soccer fans (reads: ki siao) the other is the die hard punters who will hurl vulgarities at the players at the end of the match or nearing the end of the match if he lost his bets. lmao.

yello, theres a lot to write but im kinda lazy these few days. ok lets start with the euro semi finals matches. both matches were exciting in their own right, turkey and germany produced 3 goals in between them in the final 11 min of the game. the turks fairytale journey was finally ended by lahm's late strike. next up was spain, dismantling the russians with their slick, eye-candy passing football. arshavin was a letdown, heavily subdued throughout the match. euro 2008 finals will be germany vs spain. w00t!

first week of school, gotten back almost all our ica results except for pom, results was ok, hope i passed pom. this week got no mood, never do all tutorials. sian la got html and oral comm ica nex week. plus got 2 projects which we haven started at all.

then came friday which was yesterday, lol. wth. played soccer against bl. imo we had shown a fair bit of improvement. im sorry if i talked a little rudely to some of you guys. but thats how i behave on the pitch ;). although we lost 7-6, at least it wasnt a thrashing. i was only disappointed by the soft goals that we let in. maybe because im an advocate of solid defending with minimal errors.

this past week i watched a couple of movies on dvd and on the net. but the movie Into The Wild was a particularly powerful movie. Released in Sept 07, it is rated r-21 due to nudity and coarse language. I strongly recommend u guys to catch the movie.

Turkey Remembered Istanbul

The ball is round, as proven once again by the resilient turks. Defying odds and logic, at the same time sending the croats into oblivion. The croats thought victory was theirs with 1 minute of 2nd extra time left, the scoreline reads croatia 1 - turkey 0. Rockstar/Law graduate/Croatia Manager Bilic was celebrating what he thought was his side's victory only to be sucker punched with a last min equaliser by the Semih, the same man who did it the last match and here is the same guy who battled kidney problems earlier on in his career. And when Modric who was the only one interested in playing attractive football missed his spotkick, another great comeback was on the cards. The Croatian players were unconsolable, literally wailing on the centre of the pitch, slumped. Beauty of football.

Although my eyelids were exceptionally heavy during the match (i think somebody slept midway through the game), the great Istanbul comeback and Turkey's habit of leaving it till late kept me awake. 119 mins of absolute boredom, 1 min of magical madness. Beautiful sport indeed.

Condolences to Khalid Bouhlarouz, having to overcome the grief of losing his daughter and still making himself available for Van Basten's team. i salute his professionalism. How many people would do that? You have some players faking imaginary injuries and not play. Here we have a father losing a daughter, and still wants to play for his country. School will resume on monday, i bet we are going to see zombie-like soccer fanatics going to school on monday. On Thursday went out with Ang Tao and Alvin. Details of the outing cannot be revealed. We basically walked up and down Orchard Rd. Then went seoul gardening with ray,selfie,zy,ang tao and ben at cwp. CWP sucks la, next time we go somewhere else can. budden still enjoyed the outing but i had to 'pung seh' ang tao and went to meet fir and kai.

Ok now match report, played against Ang Tao's friend's friends. Only one guy is AngTao friend. Only 5 of us playing, the others got other commitments,San was on trial at JB FC. ZY on other hand was reportedly on trial at Jakarta FC while some sources were quoted saying that he went Italy(jk hor). So in the end only me, Alvin, Chong, Ray and Ang Tao came. Met up with them and ate breakfast at Mc. Then while eating suddenly there was a commotion going on. There's a rat in NYP's mcdonalds. ewww i duwan eat there liao. ok thats not the point, ya im getting to the match report soon. We didn't realise Gina was there eating also, maybe her new haircut. Offtrack abit, Alvin cut his hair which Ang Tao commented was like Secondary School boy. Ang Tao also got a new, well not new, erm improved, or maybe deproved look. Ang Tao hair was on fire, he dyed his hair Red, again. Alvin commented that it looked like auntie hair. Ok when Gina stand up then we noticed her, BUT Ang Tao only noticed her friend, then he keep talking about it, we ignored his crap as usual. come on la Ang Tao. ok then we walked to sports hall.. wait wait, i ordered the last breakfast of the day woohoo. Ok reached there but there were kids playing hockey, so we dun disturb them and went to play at street soccer court. ok match report, we won, yes u read it right, WON 5-4. Ang Tao commented 'we thought we lousy but they more lousy sia! hheerrhheerrhheerr!'. Alvin and me missed out on a hat-trick while Ang Tao got a goal for himself. Positive stuffs to note from the match is the partnership between me and Ang Tao, drawing comparison to the David Villa and Torres partnership. Then there was also Chong's much improved defensive ability, ala Gattuso. Alvin managed to end his rot and score two goals after firing blanks in the past few matches and having to clean his rifle after that. ok dun get it right, nvm, lol. Ray managed some fine saves alerting scouts who were there to look for Van der Sar's replacement. However, Ang Tao suffered a serious head injury after Alvin whacked the ball to the back of Ang Tao's red head. Ang Tao's red head sounds .. There are now fears that our leading topscorer might be heading to IMH for treatment and may not be available for the next few games. sorry for the wall of text guys. i'll try to keep the match report shorter next time.

After the game, went to CCK stadium to buy tickets for tomorow SG vs Saudi WCqualifiers. But the Auntie said 'No more alredi boy, yesterday they take the tickets back alredi.' wah sian.. tomoro must go earlier abit to get the tickets. wah today's euro match exciting, group of death will be playing today.. woohoo.

Euro Fever

Spain's 4 - 1 demolition of Russia was by far the most exciting match of the Euro. With Valencia's David Villa scoring the first hat-trick in the competition since Patrick Kluivert in Euro 2000. I was expecting Gus Hiddink's side to pull something off this game against the perennial underachievers, something to take note of the Russian side is that all except one of their players play in their own domestic league. But the spanish armada was too fluid in attack, Iniesta and Xavi pulling the strings in midfield whilst Torres and Villa terrorize the Russian defence. There were fears of Torres being injured and was forced to be substituted by his Liverpool team-mate Xabi Alonso, but the Spanish coach had cleared all doubts about it. Arbeloa and Reina were unused subs in the match. I would love to see Villa linking up with Torres at Liverpool, he would definitely feel at home. Not only can they celebrate the many goals that they will be scoring together ;) (reads: hugs) but benitez and the spanish contingent at Liverpool will definitely help him settle into life in the Premiership.

These few days had been a bore, been watching DVDs in the day and Euro-ing at night/morning. Have not even started on any of the projects + tutorials yet. GG sia.

After watching the lion's spirited display against the far superior uzbeks alvinho was motivated to beat arch-rivals BJ. The BKians were bruised but definitely not battered. Alvinho came up with tactics and even psyche himself to improve his fitness. His determination had even rubbed off to hat-trick hero Angtao. Team manager, Selfie, wasn't around to comment on her players sudden boost in morale.

Lions Vs uzbekistan

The lions managed to salvage some pride with a disciplined and spirited display against the uzbeks despite losing 1 - 0. Playing against a side that mauled them 3 - 7 at the Old Lady, the naysayers camp were abuzz with negatives and how the lions will be humiliated once again. i'd consider the lions unlucky for not being able to gain any points from that match. raddy's man management was top notch, he did not single out any player after that 3 - 7 defeat. in fact he applauded the fighting spirit of the lions and their ability to score 3 goals against the uzbeks, taking into consideration that the uzbeks have not conceded a single goal within the group stages yet. the tactically discplined lions put on a stirling display away from home, quickly closing down the uzbeks and creating several chances. well done lions.
next up will be Lions Vs Saudi Arabia @ the Old Lady this Saturday. w00t! go lions go!

the story goes like this, guy likes girl but didnt realise that, till he is about to lose her to a scottish royalty and decides to crashed their wedding, which guy was the unorthodox maid of honour, to get his girl back. theres even the ever recycled scene of turn-the-car-around-and-get-me-back-to-the-church moment. how predictable can it be? ok at least he rode on horseback to the church. throw in a couple of gay jokes and quirky characters like his 70's styled weirdo friend and his always getting divorced and married AGAIN father you get a romantic comedy called made of honour. guy here is patrick dempsey of greys anatomy, think it was his first foray into silverscreen and the girl, erm, i dunno who. the movie's soundtrack is top notch, james morrison, sara barelleis, dashboard confessional, smashmouth and oasis. chong was singing along to oasis - stop crying your heart out. w00t!.

w00t! tiz week sibei packed.. got 2 icas and projects to complete.. luckily managed to scrape thru the icas but still haven finished the stats project.. gg liao, monday must submit.. 10% gone can chop off kkj liao.. played in an interesting soccer tourney just now.. rather kkj.. i tink 3/4 of the teams got eliminated via the penalty kicks..

then ang tao was super sexcited today.. keep talking kkj and made me laugh non stop.. tink he gg liao.. monday must bring fire extinguisher..somebody damn dulan with the rumours liao.. tat btss keep spreading "lame"(i quote 'mata') rumours bout love triangles, squares, pentagon and circles.. wtf sia..

no school today cause its SBM's graduation day! yay!

was quite tired yesterday, but no more sleepless nights because this season's champs league is over. played soccer with the guys yesterday and angtao braced a hat trick. power rite? woot! first time we won playing against another team. lol.

death cab for cutie released their new album, narrow stairs 3 days ago.. i rate it 3.75/5.. preferred their old sound.. although gibbard still sound soothing and nice as usual.. and just found out theres another death cab for cutie fan in class.. going jb tomorrow for cigarrete tasting.. woot.

watched ironman yesterday. i rated it 3.75/5 .. not bad but not fantastic either.. would be anticipating the sequel.. and as all other marvel comics movies, look out for stan lee's cameo and yeah, luckily we stayed till after the credits to see cpt nick fury, played by samuel l jackson. nick fury's a white guy in the comics and cartoon btw. lol.

next movie will be what happens in vegas..

projects and tutorials are piling.. luckily the class is great although a tad too noisy at times.. i love afa lessons especially.. really, its fun.

haven posted for nearly a month, school was fun.. modules were definitely better than chem engine.. lol. now taking time off from studying for tomorrow's test.. played against 4 SIR team earlier in the day.. and yesterday played for syahid's team against a no name team in the hot afternoon.. was damn shagged.. wah go back to studying and still have to do stats tutorial.. tomorrow got test and a full day in school.. sian.

match was supposed to be played at redhill gesss pitch.. however there was only one goal post so we had to change location to commonwealth pitch.. the pitch was damn muddy it was impossible to play football on it.. i played only in the second as fir was wearing the boots in the first half.. luckily i played on left side of the pitch which was in better condition than in the middle of the pitch.. the match ended in a draw 2-2.. took a few knocks and my old injury seem to have returned.. sigh.. i definitely wasn't match fit, could barely last one half of the match.. hoping for more matches to come.. yeah..

my initial plan on that day was to go and get a new pair of shoes at mustapha center.. wanted to go alone.. then khai called and wanted to meet up.. then fir and faris joined in.. met them at lot 1 and change of plans.. decided to go to orchard rd instead.. change of plans again when we boarded the train.. khai suggested to chill out at vivocity.. ok fine, then when we were about to reach j.e station.. change of plans again.. i suggested we go to imm followed by bowling at chevrons.. ok cool went to imm walk around.. its been years since i last been to this place.. iirc it was after some football match at the pitch in front of imm.. surprised to see more shops at imm.. edc, fox, fos, adidas.. of a sudden fir said "eh niari kan birthday jam".. ok cool so we went to get some present for jam.. then we received a txt from sai to join them at wcp.. ok cool sai picked us up from imm and before proceeding to pick up hafiz from clementi before we went to wcp.. ok i shall not continue on from here..

played street soccer with the 86 guys at my home turf.. kind of boring as there were only four teams around.. ended up playing soccer with a bunch of primary school kids.. was nice to see some familiar faces still hanging around the area though.. hamzah past by on his way to his gf hse.. then haris past by just after he was done staring at the screens of the sg pools outlet.. and played soccer with faizal and the bunch of hyperactive primary school kids..

kl trippin 14-17 march 08

went to kl with fir and sai last week.. got myself skinny jeans, a polo tee, a porter bag and a 2Gb thumbdrive.. kl was fun, we went to hrc for some drinks, the resident band was kind of average.. definitely not like bushmen who plays every sunday at hrc sg.. anyways, that was the highlight of the 2 day 1 night trip there, apart from the sky bridge tour and retail and gastronomical therapy.. i felt that the trip was too short and we should have taken more pics at klcc before leaving.. hope to be back there when the projected 3 new towers will be built alongside the twin towers.. and the bullet train project that is expected to be completed by 2010 as told by the tourist guide at klcc.. actually i don't bet on it to be completed on time though.. 2 more years to go and no significant development.. malaysia boleh!.. yeah right..

im working with singtel as a customer service officer. you know the people who always put you on hold when you call the hotline.. yeah thats what im doing now.. the place got a nice working environment from my first impression.. but cant say much cause im still under training.. and yeah enjoy the video..

it was our 5th day working in that caffeine intoxicated factory. sai was on off that day so only me haidir and fir was working. guess it was a weekend and they were understaffed, i was working till my knee was bleeding and back aching so badly. so that was when i decided enough was enough. haha. halfway through me and fir just punched out and left that place. hailed down a cab and went home freaking shagged. lol reminds me of that day when we ran away from our ncc training except that no one was chasing after us. nice meeting you haidir. may u presevere. haha.

we were supposed to meet at cck mrt today at 10am. i ended up waiting for 30mins for fir and sai. thx. lol. we gotten ourselves two jobs opportunities which only would be confirmed tomorrow.

after that short 'carik kejer' session we planned for some mtg, which is magic:the gathering, a card game. but in the end we ended up watching 'Terowong Casablanca' at my place.
